My Super Tuesday

Ok, confession... my super Tuesday wasn't all that super!  In fact, my leap year day wasn't all that much to leap over either.  Why can't I celebrate like a normal person?

I was hoping to watch some election returns come in (because I am turning into a huge dork) but instead I spent it under my sink -- and not just because I was hiding from my kids.

My kitchen sink stopped up somethin' fierce.  No bueno.  I couldn't even plunge it, absolutely no water was going down.  The garbage disposal just churned the water.  I guess if I'd have been smart I could have made butter... but I digress....

I popped my head down under the sink, but the J trap didn't look normal to me.  Made me nervous.  I tried screwing with it, but it wouldn't budge.  I remembered I have a home warranty, so I called them to make a backup appointment for the AM if I couldn't figure it out.

I finally got the courage up to unscrew the j-trap and then clean everything out.  Btw, our sink looks like this... the bad this in this video.  What a shame.  I think this means we may be cleaning it out often.  Good thing I'm super skilled at it now.  Weird thing, that I can't figure out.  WE have a little hose clamped and kinked onto our drain pipe.  It looks like you could use it to drain out the water, or something, but I un-kinked it and no such thing happened.  Weird, no?  Anyone else have that?

Anyway, back to me.  I had also tried so hard to plunge the sink (I was kind of doing CPR on the plunger while standing on a chair) that I loosened the garbage disposal from the sink -- so I had to tighten it (instructions are here -- I love YouTube when I'm fixing things).

Anyway, I pretty well felt like She-Ra after I was done with all of that.  Drew wasn't quite as impressed, although he should have been since I saved him a good hour of work after he does at the high school musical (and by that, I mean the ACTUAL musical at the high school, not high school musical:the movie -- then my sink would be clogged with vomit from my boys, they sure do hate that thing).  I mean, what percentage of wives, do you think, would take apart their sink to get a clog out?  I even then snaked the whole thing and I blew water from our hose out the whole thing.  Genius, no?

And finally, back to the actual Super Tuesday.  Here's my view of it.  Republicans in the south aren't going to vote for a Mormon.  They hate us.  No one says it, but it's true.  Romney does great in urban populations, but get into the rural south and he's a downer.  Santorum will do good in the rural south.  End of story.  It's a shame, because I think Romney IS the kind of guy who will get under the proverbial sink and clean it out.  Sad that people can't get over their prejudice.

And prejudice will cause a clog faster then whatever it was I sent down my sink.  And that's a fact. :)
