One of the comments I get most about my blog is about my cleaning schedule. It's rigorous, I am aware. Possibly too rigorous, I am also aware of that, but it keeps me on track.
To review posts I've already written.
I use an app called Astrid. It is a "to-do" list app that helps me to cross stuff off. Drew and I each have our own apps, but we share a list of household duties, and I am also able to put things on HIS to-do list (do you hear the angels of heaven singing right now -- sadly, just because it's on his list doesn't mean it gets done, but somehow just putting it on his list makes me feel better).
I love this app, because a lot of jobs don't have to be done weekly, but do need doing, so I am able to schedule them in astrid. That way I'm not having to really think about what needs getting done. I just do what comes up on my phone.
For instance, right now I am realizing I have no "clean cobwebs" job in my phone and it's something I am missing. I'm trying to figure out how often I really need to do it and a day it will fit well on, and I will plug it into astrid. After a little thought I think I will do it monthly on Fridays. Whamo, I will add it.
Anyway, now that we've been in this house for just about 18 months (seriously, how did that happen?) I am tweeking it a little bit to work best for us. I figure I'll re-do it on the blog.
Are you excited?
Me neither. In fact, it makes me want to wear pants to church, but being a stay at home mom means saving the money I would otherwise use on a cleaning service by doing it myself. It's not like I love to clean, but it's something that needs gettin' done. And boy oh boy does it feel good to be done!
