I feel such a moral dilemma when I am sick.
One side of me says stay home and get rest and fluids. Don't spread the germs
The other side of me doesn't want to put my burdens onto anyone else.
But I think we need a mindframe switch. People need to stay home when they are sick. Sure, you might need to run to the drug store but those germs are best kept at home.
But I feel like a slacker when I do it... do you?
I wish I wouldn't. The plain truth is that the germs should be left at home along with the sniffles etc. And people need to be more understanding of that.
I guess some people call in sick for every little thing, hangnail, etc.
But, where do you lie? Do you think a cold should keep you home from church or work? At what point should it keep you home? Inquiring minds....
**On a side note, I've heard talk at work about using probiotics to boost immunity. I'm a big vitamin taker, but I'm wondering if anyone else has any first hand knowledge of them, and what's the best kind to buy?

I agree with staying home when sick, and that opinion has evolved. I used to take all kinds of drugs to be able to function at work. I would often feel loopy or fog-brain, but I was there, doing my job. Ever since my first pregnancy, I have switched to a much more natural perspective on taking care of my body. I think it's good to stay home when sick. I will even stay home when just starting to get sick, "nip it in the bud". I use more natural remedies that work with steady application over a few days, not instantly. My body needs rest and time to heal when I'm sick, not a drug dose and back to high stress of the daily grind. I personally do not like snotty kids around other healthy kids - they don't know how to not touch their face and then touch other people, things, toys, etc. As an adult, I can avoid touching my face, control my coughs into tissues, etc., so if I feel a strong obligation or need to be somewhere I will go (like family Christmas dinner). We do use probiotics, I think they are important. I'll email you more on that.
